Assessment Supports can only be provided if there is an increased cost to the client related to participation in an Assessment Service. Funding normal living expenses (e.g., food, rent, shelter, utilities, etc.,) is not allowed by federal regulations.
Assessment Supports–
can only be provided to support an Assessment Service;
can be provided at any point in the rehabilitation process;
are provided at no cost to the individual;
are subject to the comparable services and benefits provision of Rule 72 (Section 003);
are subject to the fee schedule and procurement options in Rule 72 (Section 004).
The client is an equal partner in deciding on the range of assessment supports needed;
Services noted with an “SA” below require a Service Agreement with the provider;
Per Rule 72 certain services can only beauthorized to the client, and certain services can only beauthorized to the provider. These are noted belowin redon the service.
Determine if participation in an Assessment Service creates an increased cost to the client;
Identify if an Assessment Support is needed to participate in an Assessment Service;
Search for comparable services that may address the needed Assessment Support;
Add the Assessment Support in QE2 to the Assessment Service it is supporting (NOTE: the Assessment Service must be added as an Assessment Service/Service in order to attach an Assessment Support);
Enter a task note justifying the purchase of the Assessment Support;
