The Explorer toolbars (e.g. Back button) do not work in NIS
You can use Internet Explorer or Firefox to access NIS.
Log into NIS at least once a week to prevent your password from being revoked.
If you try to login to NIS three times or more in one session and fail you will be locked out of NIS. Contact the State Office to have your password reset.
To avoid being locked out, do not try more than two logins per session. After two unsuccessful tries, exit the internet and then login in to the internet again. If after you have two unsuccessful attempts again and it is apparent that your login still doesn’t work, contact the State Office.
CHANGING PASSWORDS
Guidelines
NIS requires a password change approximately every thirty days. You will automatically be prompted to change your password when it has expired. NIS gives you 5 days to change your password and then locks you out if you do not make the change.
