TSB Rental Policy

Purpose

To outline guidelines and rate charges for checking out state cars.

Guidelines

  1. 1/2 day rates apply to vehicles that are picked up and returned within four hours between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm the same work day. IN OMAHA, HALF-DAY RATES APPLY TO ANY FOUR-HOUR PERIOD.
  2. Vehicles returned before 10:00 AM are not charged for the day they are returned.
  3. Vehicles checked out after 4:00 PM are not charged for they day they are checked out UNLESS the log sheet shows that the vehicle was used that night after pick up. If so, they will be charged the one day rate.

TSB Logs

  1. A sample TSB log can be found under Administrative Forms, TSB Log.
  2. When completing a TSB log –
    • Complete heading information.
    • Make sure the last ending reading minus the first beginning reading equals the total of the Miles Traveled column.
    • Enter the month and day for all trips on the log.
    • Arrange multiple pages chronologically with last date last.
    • Put Total Miles Traveled on the last page.
    • For ATP (or non-VR) mileage put red asterisk (*) in Miles Traveled column.
    • Mail the original logs to State Office in time to be received on or before the 1st of each month.
    • Do NOT send copies with the original logs.
    • Keep gas receipts in field office, but attach receipts for all other services.
    • Office Director or designee signature on the log pages.
