Summary of Changes

Career Planning

Process

For individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability, the VR Profile for Supported or Customized Employment document is meant to be the most comprehensive planning tool used to work towards an IPE. The Career Planning Preferences form (booklet exception) shall then be used to gather information required to set up the QE2 case.

 (OJE) after eligibility and priority group has been assigned.

Policy

Career Planning begins after eligibility and priority group determination has been completed and continues through writing of the Individual Plan for Employment. 

 

OJE- On the Job Evaluation

Highlighted notice at the top of Policy that reads: * During Order of Selection use CWA- Community Work Assessment to determine eligibility and prioritization until further notice.

Added Note under Process (Paid OJE) and Policy (OJE Fee): NOTE: The department of Health and Human Services should not count OJE Wages as 'income', because it is not considered income by VR when determining benefits they provide. If the VR Specialist receives a Verification Request form from DHHS regarding the OJE income, the specialist should complete it along with an Income Under WIOA form and return to DHHS.

Worker's Compensation:  To report an injury/accident requiring medical attention or to report an injury/accident with no medical attention, staff need to contact NDE HR at 402.471.5026 to obtain the necessary forms/process on behalf of the client.

 

Rapid Engagement

Process

Clients determined eligible and assigned to an open priority group under the Order of Selection may benefit from a Rapid Engagement approach.  If completing Rapid Engagement in assessment prior to eligibility and priority group assignment, refer to the Community Work Assessment Chapter.

Policy

If needed, Rapid Engagement activities are introduced after eligibility and priority group assignment

 

Vocational Evaluation

 For Pre Employment Transition Students who need more in-depth exploration:

*Reminder that Pre-Employment exploration must be within one of the five areas of approved services.

Recycle old or update Vocational Evaluation Referral form on desktop; Use Pre ETS Job Exploration Referral for students when referring to Evaluator.
