Summary of Changes

Included reference to automated referral email to be sent to Benefits Orientation Specialist based on the entry of benefits at the time of the application that will appear on the Existing Benefits screen   

Added expectation to document discussion of Benefits for 3 different scenarios for clients not receiving SSA disability benefits, those seeking only limited VR services and have no benefits changes/concerns, and those receiving SSA retirement benefits.

No forms changes.

 

QE2 Update

Benefits Orientation is now an Assessment Support to the Career Planning Assessment Service and should be reported in QE2 as such.

QE2 will auto generate a record on the Existing Benefits screen based on the benefits identified at time of application. An Benefits Referral will be auto generated and required to be completed (Benefits staff assigned) at the time of eligiblity.

Benefits Orientation will be auto generated as a service for cases with a Benefits Referral.

 

To Do

Changes to occur at the same time as other IPE changes, and will be included in the overall training. 

 

Team Communication

All staff wil be required to attend IPE training; additional discussion of updated policy may be needed in team meetings as the changes roll-out and staff begin to implement changes.

Monitoring Requirements

Review of task notes related to provision or declination of Benefits Orientation should be completed during case reviews.  

 

Training Dates

Changes discussed in IPE Training 2/23, 10:30-11:30; 2/24, 2:00-3:00; additional training and discussion will be completed at upcoming Benefits Orientation Specialists meeting (4/12/22).
