Summary of Changes

If an authorization is completed in QE2 after the good or service has been provided (start date of authorization is prior to the day the authorization is completed), approval of the authorization will now be required by an Office Director/Program Director. The authorization will not be able to be completed in QE2 without a) the reason, and b) approval.

QE2 Update

QE2 will send authorizations not completed on time to the Authorization Approvals screen and the authorization must be approved by an Office Director/Program Director before it can be completed. A task note will be auto-generated with the reason the authorization was not completed on time, the name of the staff member making the request, and the justification for approving the authorization.

To Do

A “reason” for the late authorization will be required on the authorization at the time it is completed in QE2; associates will need to have this information in order to submit an authorization for approval;

Team Communication

Teams should review the change in policy at a team meeting and ensure the iinternal process used to request authorizations includes a “reason” if it is not completed on time, so associates have that information to enter at the time the authorization is completed. The name of the staff person making the request should also be included on the request in QE2.
