Summary of Changes
The policy has been updated to include changes to the VR provider background check process now done in collaboration with NDE HR using OneSource. Checks of Adult and Child Abuse and Neglect Registries will also be completed as part of the process.
Forms - New or Revised
The Service Agreement has been updated to include the requirement that background checks must be completed by VR for all individuals, Independent Providers (serving those with I/DD in Supported Employment or Customized Employment) and business owners or principles who will provide direct services.
The listing of actual background checks to be completed by OneSource is attached to the chapter and may be shared with those signing the OneSource form. The OneSource is a standard form; only the checks listed on the attachment will be completed by OneSource by NDE/Nebraska VR.

Team Communication
Most service agreements are completed by Office Directors, but other VR staff may benefit from knowing the changes in background checks for prospective provider. A discussion of general provisions of background checks would be helpful.
