Summary of Changes

The Information and Referral (I & R) to Other Programs document has been edited to meet the needs of VR offices statewide. With Priority Groups 1 and 2 open and short wait for Priority Group 3, an extensive list of resources is no longer necessary. 

Information & Referral is used in the following situations:

• Person chooses not to apply for VR services;
• Individual is placed on a VR wait list;
• Exploration of Comparable Services and Benefits;
• Career Counseling and Information & Referral (CCIR) meetings for sub-minimum wage earners;
• Anytime throughout VR services or at case closure, as determined appropriate

Immediately discontinue use of all existing I & R documents and resource houndouts and begin using new document.

Team Communication

Discuss how each office may customize local resources on the document for electronic and/or print usage. Review when I & R document is used.
